Seen, heard, observed + inspired, around the city

I’ve been collecting fashionable SFers for weeks, and I have enough for a post! It’s a pretty fashionable city, especially when the sun comes out to play. But you have to have some creativity since you never know what the day might bring.

The white jacket. I’m pretty sure I didn’t mention yet that I want a white jacket, and I may just wear it with my white jeans. But, I want one! This is the one I want.

Shortly after realizing I wanted one, I saw this totally fashionable woman wearing a white blazer. I’m still thinking about it!

And the perfect trench. I have a great black trench coat, but sometimes it feels a little bit heavy for a sunny day. The other morning this woman was waiting for the bus, and her outfit hit it perfect.

Color. Oh color. I have such trouble with you, yet I love you so much. If you asked C, he’d probably say I wear a lot of color, but I feel like I’m stuck in gray, black, and navy. But this woman rocked color like it was her job.

And the summertime dress. I really struggle with this because it’s never really warm enough all day to wear a little dress. Too much skin showing and around 5 pm you’re showing your goosebumps to the world. But with so much sunshine being bundled up with tights and coat and scarf feels like too much. This woman looks like she’s ready to go from warm to cold without issue.

I think what I need is to get Dressed. You know, I’ve talked about it before. Not just put some clothes together and go, but really think about the look from head to toe. Every one of these women has a complete look, not just a nice pair of pants or a cool jacket. Where does one learn to dress this way? Something to aspire to I suppose… ah well, have a great weekend! <3

Things I love, late again…

Thursday night we went to the movie. We didn’t get home until late. No post :( Then I got lazy yesterday – I was so lazy, I took an evening nap! What a sad state. Needless to say I’m playing catch-up again. Apparently the end of the week is my writing nemesis.

Thankfully, I still love some things so I’m ok with being late. And, I think you might be too!

I love going to the movie, whether it’s a big action movie or a quiet film. I like to get popcorn, and *gasp* sometimes even a soda, sit back, watch the previews and enjoy two hours of non-active engagement.

I also love a good margarita. I am over 21 and therefore it’s ok to love margaritas, occasionally. A little tartness, a little sweetness and the salt on the rim. Oh yeah, and don’t go messing mine up in a blender. It’s like the embodiment of summer.

And avocados. Often the perfect accompaniment to a margarita. But also tasty smashed up on toast for lunch.

Well, I’ve managed to work up an appetite while updating you, and so I shall go find some dinner, that hopefully might include avocado and maybe even a margarita on this beautiful sunny day! Until Monday… <3

What’s for dinner?

Another week, another chance to forget to take pictures. So as mentioned on Saturday, I had a meeting Wednesday night so no dinner. I can’t remember what I made for dinner on Thursday, but I’m pretty sure I did cook. And Friday we went out.

How about these… Saturday we had quesadillas. They were really tasty.

I made spaghetti on Sunday, but neglected to take pictures. It was a redemption from the last time! Monday night I made sloppy joe’s; they weren’t as good as last time, but that’s just my opinion (not C’s). We also tried out some sweet potato tater tots. They were different, a bit mushy, but tasty and seemed kind of healthy.

Last night we had leftovers of all of the home-cooked meals.

And tonight it’s back out, this time with some of C’s friends from home. Here’s to good eating over the next week! <3

Happy birthday, little blog!

Can you believe that four years ago I started this little blog?! I can’t. Of course, I haven’t always been a faithful poster. Some might even call me negligent at times. But, here we are. With a blog that has some direction, maybe we shall call it directionless aim?

And regardless of the city…

Weekend wrap-up

I am loving the weather we’ve been fortunate to have recently. It started to cool a little bit this weekend but still plenty of sunshine.

We started the weekend with dinner out Friday. This was mostly due to the fact that I ruined any chance of an appetite with milkshakes at work. Yes, I said milkshakes – I had 2 and they were good. But, I still had room for more food than I expected.

Then I went to yoga. Had a bit of excitement on the way.

C and I arranged a meeting at the post office to pick up a missed package. Look what we got.

We went to get coffee and to look at bikes. Yes, we’ve decided it might be time to consider getting a bike for me. Because we can’t go bike since I don’t have a bike and I’m too small for one of C’s. Although no luck on the bike front yet.

We drove by two shoes stores. Both with fabulous names. One’s below, but the other was called U-toe-pia. So much to laugh about today!

We got home and relaxed for the rest of the evening. We even watched a movie – Puss in Boots. Toughy enjoyed it.

Sunday we had tickets to the Tour of California. It was pretty awesome, despite the weather not quite living up to our expectations. Pictures are the best way to enjoy it!

What a great weekend! I could totally use one more day to relax… but alas, that’s not going to happen. Until tomorrow. <3
